AI infrastructure for the Philippines, priced landed and placed honestly.

The Philippines has the demand story: a vast services and outsourcing economy moving into AI, a young digital workforce, and enterprises under real pressure to automate. What it has less of is cheap local power and abundant AI-ready capacity, which makes the placement question unusually important here.

Philippine enterprises, particularly across business services, outsourcing and telecoms, are adopting AI quickly, and the country's data-centre market is expanding to meet it. But high-density AI capacity is a different product from traditional colocation, and the halls able to cool current-generation GPU racks are a small subset of what exists. Electricity costs are among the higher ones in the region, which weighs directly on the economics of running training workloads locally.

Add the practical realities: typhoon exposure and grid stability make resilience design a first-order concern rather than a footnote, and connectivity, while genuinely improving through submarine cable investment, still shapes where latency-sensitive workloads should sit.

None of that argues against Philippine AI infrastructure. It argues for being deliberate about which layer runs where.

How we structure Philippine deals

Land the hardware, or place the workload offshore.

Two routes, and the right one depends on your constraints. If data must stay in-country, we source into the Philippines: freight and insurance at node weights, customs classification, duties and VAT treatment, and importer-of-record where you do not hold import capability yourself. Economic zone arrangements such as PEZA registration can change the import and incentive position materially, and that is a question to answer before hardware is ordered rather than after it.

If residency does not bind the workload, the honest comparison is against placing training capacity in the US or EU, where both availability and power economics are currently better, keeping only the latency-sensitive inference layer local and connecting the two privately. For a good number of Philippine buyers that split delivers more compute per peso than an entirely domestic build.

Either way the same discipline applies: export screening on the destination and end user before commercial terms, verified allocation only, and a landed number you can actually compare.

Real stock, real structures.

Current verified lines with quantities, lead times and indicative pricing are public on the live inventory. The buying structures sit on the procurement desk and the leasing desk, and the decision frameworks are in buy versus lease and cloud versus bare metal.

Straight answers

Asked first, answered straight.

Can you deliver GPUs into the Philippines?

Yes, landed, subject to export screening on the end user and destination. Freight, insurance, customs, duties and importer-of-record are handled as part of the deal, and the number you compare is the landed cost in the Philippines rather than an ex-works quote.

Does economic zone registration change the deal?

It can change the import and incentive position significantly for registered enterprises. Because the treatment depends on your registration and the intended use, it is worth confirming with your advisers early; we structure the import leg around whichever position applies to you.

Should we host locally or offshore?

It depends on whether data residency binds you. Where it does, local placement with a named facility is the answer. Where it does not, US or EU placement usually offers better availability and power economics, with inference kept close to users. We price both.

Is local high-density capacity actually available?

Some, and less than the market's enthusiasm suggests once you filter for the cooling and power that current GPU generations require. We qualify facilities on the constraints that decide deployment rather than on brochure claims.

Who do you work with in the Philippines?

Enterprises and service providers building AI capability, operators developing capacity, and regional groups placing requirements across Southeast Asia. The desk is buyer-side in every case.
